With the whole world thinking “greener” these days it’s great to see someone use our business in a way to help the world. Daniel Phillips and Kim Karlsrud are a duo who created the Greenaid Project. This project strives to branch out the guerrilla gardening idea of turning everyday people into a sort of ninja gardener, planting flowers wherever there is a need for green.
This duo, as well as many volunteers, refurbishes gumball vending machines into their “seedbomb” vending machines. A seedbomb is a combination of clay, compost and local flower seeds that can be thrown anywhere and will grow a beautiful batch of flowers. The machines are a green color and feature an insert on the front of the machine that really makes these machines look professional. GreenAid also uses this as a way for young people to venture out into the business world. This teaches the young entrepreneurs responsibility and management whilst making them a little bit of money.
If you are looking to do this yourself and don’t want to go through the GreenAid project, you can create your own seedbombs! Just click HERE to find out how. These homemade seedbombs will also dispense out of our 2” Toy Vending Machines. Just be sure that before you place machines anywhere that you get permission from your city as fines can be involved with unapproved placement.
This is a great idea from people with their hearts and minds in the right place. With your help and the help of the vending business, we can all make this world a greener place.
