How To Fix A Gumball Machine Lock

This blog will teach you how to fix a gumball machine lock. Please try this method before you begin to drill out the lock of your gumball machine a go buy a new lock. By doing this, it could save you money in the long run.

Typically a gumball machine lock has 3 notches. 2 on the outside and 1 on the inside part of the lock. The inside lock notch is supposed to line up with one of the notches on outside part of the lock.

But in this situation the middle notch doesnt line up with any of the notches on the outside. This prevents the key from going into the lock.

Now usually someone would look at this lock and assume theres no fixing it and just go ahead and drill this lock out BUT we a have a solution for you!

With every machine shipped here on Gumball Machine Warehouse comes 2 keys. Take one of those keys and grind off the top tooth using either a file or just taking it to some concrete for a few passes.

By removing the top tooth it will allow you to stick the key into the lock and realign the middle notch so that you can get the normal key into the lock and use the lock properly

Please feel free to check out the video above for more of a visual view of this blog.
